Trophy Mule Deer Hunt

         Although trophy mule deer are the hardest trophy animal in the country to come by, due to limited hunting pressure on large tracts of private land in New Mexico and Colorado, we’ve been able to harvest our share.

          What a mule deer season it was in 2007! With 32 deer tags on all hunts, 29 of those were filled. 21 of the 29 bucks scored from 165” to 200” gross class. We also saw several in the 175”+ class for next year. We can’t wait for the deer hunts in 2008!

          This is undoubtedly one of the best-valued trophy deer hunts in the world. Almost every year we’ve been able to harvest bucks close to the 200” class or better. All years, bucks taken have averaged over 61/2 years in age. This, combined with great genetics, spells BIG BUCKS. Big bucks at the optimum time periods to hunt them. Combination Deer/Elk Hunt

          These hunts are definitely the most bang for your buck. Although weather is a factor on these hunts both in Colorado and New Mexico, the opportunity for quality animals of both species is good in both states.

          The combination hunts in 2007 were fantastic! Between the 2 states, 9 hunters harvested 8 bulls and 9 bucks. The mule deer, for the first time since we started the combined hunts, took precedence. Every time we turned around someone was bringing in another super buck. Coolers were full on these hunts, with a line to the skinning shed and knives flying. What a great time on both hunts. With the mule deer coming on and elk in normal patterns, 2008 will be an exciting year.
